Something that's been in the news lately has prompted me to correct a longstanding error in the "Concerning Flight (../voyager/fiver.php?ep=concerningflight)" fiver and a few other places. Can anyone spot what I changed?

Meanwhile, here's a link. Vedra recently introduced me to the just-concluded manga series Death Note. It's a fascinating and very original story that reminds me of The Ring in some ways. Several volumes have been released here in translation, but if you can't find them, there are many fan "scanlations" available online (you didn't hear that from me). Death God (http://www.deathgod.org/main.php) looks like a good site for general info. If you have any interest in reading the series, make sure you're not spoiled, as there are many shocking twists.

Incidentally, the protagonist of Death Note, Yagami Light, is one of the most deeply evil characters you'll ever encounter in fiction... and the name he takes on? "Kira." Yes yes, it's a transliteration of "killer," but I still think I get an I told you so (../about/tji.html) here.

Unless you fixed the First Fiver Retrospective as well, I'd have to say "nothing".

Then again, it's a proven fact that I have negative ranks in Spot (D&D joke, just smile and nod and move along).

*points and laughs*

Looks like you also have negative ranks in Persuade.

Good to know I wasn't the only one to do that.

It's one of the names, isn't it? 'Leonardo' used to be 'da Vinci', I think...

Nice list :D The nerd in me feels forced to point out that the TRUE sine, cosine, and tangent of the Beast are -.01764, .9998, and -.01764 respectively, as I'm sure the Beast uses radian, and not degrees :P.

Ahh, the classics. Thanks, evay. The only change I'd make is that 1/666 is even better if you call it the Beast Common Denominator.

By the way, I didn't say anything about 6/6/06 because I thought I was making the June 5 update. Labelling it June 6 here was an accident, though it's more accurate since that's what day it technically was at the time. So in retrospect, an update about evil was pretty appropriate.

And when I went downstairs a minute ago, the clock read 3:33....

ooh thanks! I'll fix that in my archives.
