Happy Independence Day! Yes, today is the day we celebrate our victory over the aliens. They destroyed our monuments, they shot down our planes, but they could not shoot down our souls!

Seriously though, today we celebrate the USA, and I can think of no better way to do that without any actual work than by posting an appropriate link. So here's a site devoted to an upcoming movie that really understands what America is all about. Yes, folks, it's Snakes on a Blog! If there's one thing no true American will stand for, it's a bunch of motherf***ing snakes on his motherf***ing plane -- and if I had some on mine, I know I would want America's Samuel L. Jackson aboard.

(Please note, however, that my firmly pro-snake-deplaning stance should not be taken to indicate approval of other stupid internet memes, particularly those involving juggernauts.)

I was wondering when we'd get the obligatory 'Snakes on a Plane' reference around here. Seemed like just the type of joke for this site.

Anyways, happy birthday America, for all of you that live south of the 49th and believe Canada is some stange town in northern Minnesota.

First off, that would be Lake Wobegon. Second, happy Canada day, whenever the heck it is!

Reminds me of a blooper line from the actor who plays the Tellerite doctor on Hidden Fontier:

Now this [indicates nose on makeup] is a nose to thumb. You humans don't have nearly enough nose to do the job right. [Grunts while thumbing nose]

Oh, you don't know the half of it, Mav. If you could see what I'm working on... well... actually it would spoil the whole thing for you. So don't look.

(The item I'm referring to will be part of the 6th anniversary event, so you won't be waiting long.)

Actually, Lake Wobegon is west-central Minnesota. You can farm in northern Minnesota, but it's harder, and we usually stick to forestry up there.

Strange town in northern Minnesota would be Frostbite Falls, home of Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Garrison Keillor is just great, but how come we only ever get half of his show? It just isn't fair - I haven't heard a Guy Noir in weeks, dammit.
