To continue the friendly arguement in another thread, here's where you can vote on what the silliest console name is. I actually went to Wikipedia to get all of the console names they had. Note that I have not used or even heard of most of these, but that doesn't mean they don't have silly names. I hesitate to use the phrase "stupid name," but it may very well apply.

GameBoy is pretty stupid - if you ask me, WillingLad is much better*.

*This is a joke. And not a very good one either.

I know it is a stupid name. Totally silly, because of the endless jokes it will get. "Can I have a Wii?", "Would you like a Wii?" or "I'm playing with my Wii." are all statments I'm not looking forward to.
But it is kinda cute the names that Nintendo gets from it. i.e. There's a special mode that will keep the Wii connected to the internet 24 hours a day - even if you're not playing it, it will be in a 'low power' mode- to get updates and game demos sent to it at anytime.
The name of this mode? 'Wii Connect'.
Clever eh?

It's silly, but not bad silly.

Wii -- it makes the "Nintendo" seem entirely respectable and unremarkable in comparison. Not just any name could do that.

I think the consensus is "Wii." I know it got good reviews at E3, and everyone's excited about it - but, it looks a little silly, and sounds a little silly. I'm not sure I'm ready for a world with two controllers. I remember back in my day when you had one, and all you were a little blue hedgehog who collected magic rings to stop and evil robot doctor. You kids and your fancy "Wii."

I think that "Enid" is, perhaps, a little more silly even than "Wii"...
