I've read the book a couple of times, though not recently.

However, before you get too far on that fiver, you ought to check with Zeke. I seem to recall that he wasn't figuring on opening the site up to any book-based material beyond Shakespeare.[/color:post_uid0]

I second that. Read the rules, regulations and FAQ on the fiver site before emailing Zeke though. You need to know what you're getting yourself into :D[/color:post_uid0]

Shark and Taya are right, I'm afraid. Sf novels are one set of floodgates I don't plan to open any time soon. Sorry.

That's an... interesting website you've got there, Icarus....[/color:post_uid0]

Agh! Popup hell! I vote for immediate banning for that (yes, I know this isn't a democracy). Or possibly just removing the link from the profile. I recall seeing the words "redirect" in the title bar, so I'm willing to believe that someone else hacked the site.

This next bit is strictly unofficial, but I don't think there are any rules against writing fivers for your own private, personal enjoyment.[/color:post_uid0]

[quote:post_uid0="Celeste"]True. Look at the forum fivers. :)[/quote:post_uid0]

That isn't quite the same thing, Celeste. Sa'ar is talking about writing literal fivers of pre-existing books and episodes and what-not for your own enjoyment, without sharing them with anyone else. The "Board Fivers" over in the Miscellaneous forum are amusing little stories that their writers make up as they go along. They aren't actual "fivers" in a strict sense. I don't believe we're allowed to post real fivers on the forums. ;) Just a clarification.[/color:post_uid0]

Well part of that is true. [i:post_uid0]I[/i:post_uid0] didn't make my fivers up as I went along. ;) Those things really happend! Kira and Zeke wanted to kill me because I anounced their togetherness before they had announced it. :D[/color:post_uid0]

Icarus, I've deleted your last post and removed the gigantic image from your signature. Those who have been here a while know that I don't like taking that kind of action, but I'll do it if a member is making a nuisance of himself. In your case that's deliberate, so you shouldn't be surprised.

No one was mad at you originally -- it's just that this site has had a lot of trouble with people not following the submission rules. Your posts since then, however, [i:post_uid0]have[/i:post_uid0] been a problem. You're engaging in troll behaviour. As long as that stops, you're welcome to stay.[/color:post_uid0]

Whoa Mat, calm down. What Icarus has done so far isn't grounds for banning -- just for a warning, which I've administered. He hasn't even had the chance to respond to that yet.

At any rate, banning someone outright is a measure I hope I never have to resort to. Only the purest of trolls would be unreasonable enough to keep breaking the rules after two or three warnings. That doesn't mean I won't do it if at some point I have to, but it would have to be a case of serious defiance.[/color:post_uid0]

Okay, fine. Icarus, you're under a one-month suspension (less than that wouldn't mean much since you post about once every two weeks). After that, if you insist on being banned, I'll do it. This is your last chance to stop the pointless trolling.

Come on. I don't wanna do this; you don't have to make me.

^ Icarus's first post of the three. He wrote "If youÂ’re male and youÂ’re Christian and living in America, your father is your model for God. And if you never knew your father, if your father bails out or dies or is never at home, what do you believe about God?" which is a quote from the movie. His signature is another line from the movie.[/color:post_uid0]

I read that book too. I've also read several other novels
by [b:post_uid0]Chuck Palahniuk (http://www.chuckpalahniuk.net/)[/b:post_uid0] & I suggest you read them too. He's
a very good writer, although when I met him in person
he seemed to be a little bit strange.
:suspicious:
BTW, are you still here? I'm curious to see how much
longer this thread is going to last.

Added comment: Zeke, read the book if you can find some
free time. It's better than the movie, IMO.[/color:post_uid0]
