Cat, Johnny Depp is the [i:post_uid0]sexiest[/i:post_uid0] man alive on this planet. This, coming from a near-lesbian, should be telling enough.

He is also an extremely talented actor, who has just won a Golden Globe for his performance as Captain Jack Sparrow in [i:post_uid0]Pirates of the Carribean[/i:post_uid0]. Yes, he was in POTC. Yes, you should really go watch POTC. I mean, it has Orlando Bloom in it as well. What's not to like?

Also, I would recommend [i:post_uid0]Edward Scissorhands[/i:post_uid0] and [i:post_uid0]Sleepy Hollow[/i:post_uid0], both of which are excellent horror-goth types. There's also [i:post_uid0]From Hell[/i:post_uid0], which I heard is excellent, but haven't got around to watching yet.

Also, when we`re already recommending Johnny`s movies, I strongly recommend Chocolat. I've been watching him ever since "21 Jump Street" (wait? Am I showing my age? I mean I read in my history books about "21 Jump Street"...)

What's funny about him is that right after he left that show he seemed a bit much to take, because he invests so much in a role that he comes across as full of himself. I think Chocolat was one of the first films where he was able to use his dedication without drawing too much attention to himself. But the ultimate expression of this, so far, is Pirates. From first frame to latst he is absolutely committed to the role, and yet he knows it's a lighthearted comical one and so invests it with exactly the right amount of gravity.

Another overlooked Johnny Depp film: Crybaby.[/color:post_uid0]

Nic Corelli

Scooter, welcome to our little Forum! :)

And yes, I do agree with you. Johnny was wonderfully underplayed in Chocolat, but so strong in that role, and I think he became a better actor after that movie. I`m so glad he got the Oscar nomination, the Chocolat trailer went like this: "An Academy Award winner, Juliette Binoche... an Academy Award winner, Judi Dench... an Academy Award nominee, Lena Olin... and Johnny Depp." Well, now he can go around bragging with his nomination too, :D

[quote:post_uid0="Nic Corelli"]Your source is not entirely correct, since I told the Source itself that only the city of Zagreb (as far as I know) doesn`t have peanut butter.[/quote:post_uid0]

Which goes to show that you should not attempt to transmit information to The Source whilst The Source is juggling four chat windows, two assignments and one blog entry. Data tends to get corrupted.

Heh. "Data tends to get corrupted." Sometimes I amuse even myself.

And Nic-- correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Zagreb the capital city of Croatia? So how come they don't have peanut butter while this Khazad-whatever city does?

Which makes me wonder what other things it has which Nic is interested in, and which the big city doesn't have. Other than orcs, that is.

[Don't mind me. I've just come back from the Midterm Of Murder and I'm looking for objects to vent my frustrations on. I will be back to my normal John-bashing, forum-goer THWAP!ping tendencies soon enough.][/color:post_uid0]

You may. :p[/color:post_uid0][/quote:post_uid0]

[quote:post_uid0]There goes my reason to move to Croatia...[/quote:post_uid0]

How about the fact that 95% of TV series (including Trek) are uninterrupted by commercials? :p[/color:post_uid0]

It is the capital city, with one million people, but no peanut butter... Beats me. Peanuts work in mysterious ways...

About the "Khazad-whatever city", it`s where I grew up, actually, I have many (Orc) friends there, too, :madder:[/color:post_uid0]

Ah... St. Nicholas Strikes Back! Now I understand the whole speculaas thing. No speculaas here...

I`m guessing Krampus ate them all.[/color:post_uid0]

I dropped the Day out the window, it crashed on a dog and killed it.

See how even a cutest thing like cookies can turn out deadly! :dead:[/color:post_uid0]

One word: COASTLINE.
My god, have you [i:post_uid0]seen[/i:post_uid0] pictures of the Adriatic Sea! It makes me want to drop everything and migrate there right away. Where I'll spend the whole day on the beach in a bikini and pink mink coat, freezing my legs off while trying to pick up hot women.

Yeah, dreaaaammmm onnnnn. Who am I kidding, anyway! :D[/color:post_uid0]

Springerle are German cookies made for the Christmas holiday season. They're flavored with anise and made by rolling the dough out into a sheet and imprinting with little pictures that are carved into a wooden rolling pin, much like the woodcut block pictured next to the speculaas.[/color:post_uid0]
