May I be really really really presumptious and ask that, if indeed as Zeke mentioned today, Enterprise Week is still going strong (and certainly no complaints there), and other major events are also in the happening ([i:post_uid0]definitely[/i:post_uid0] no complaints there), it'd be nice if FBC was put back in action as well, without waiting another month for everything to settle down?

Thankee...[/color:post_uid0]

Give it a bit of time. And then when you've done that, give it some more time. And [i:post_uid0]then[/i:post_uid0] go and nag Zeke, and after that you wait for a while, and then you go back and remind him again because he hasn't read your e-mail yet. And then maybe he'll get around to it. See, there is a system, even if it's a horribly convoluted one.

Seriously, my suggestion would be that someone who is not Zeke takes over running just the FBC - he's got more than enough on his plate alreay, and frankly FBC as purely a group effort doesn't seem to work all that well. What's needed is someone at the rudder to keep it ticking over and make sure we have a coherent game plan. Then we'll really be cooking by gas.[/color:post_uid0]

That might be a good idea, PHJ, though I seem to recall Kira objecting about a year back.
Zeke said he has plans for FBC, so he's very likely not going to be interested in delegating it down to the forumgoers. But Zeke, if you would see it as being of help to you to let somebody else worry about FBC, I think it's safe to assume you'll have an easy time finding a volunteer.[/color:post_uid0]

Comments noted. FBC will be back this week. Look for its coming at first light on the fifth day; at dawn, look to the east.[/color:post_uid0]

Time passes.

You begin moving away to the a thread to the north, but some inner urge keeps drawing you back to this place. You feel that you simply cannot leave your work here unfinished.

>listen
You sit completely still. You think you can hear just the faintest cries of "save me! save me!" coming weakly from the FBC forum. Or was that only your imagination?

Nice? Yes well...I liked the video clip, kinda echod my thoughts when it was stuck in my head all day and night! My friend sent it to me about a week before Zeke put it up in the news page. I nearly died...

^Well, at least you didn't die from it yet. ;)

Zeke put it in a news post? Ah, so that's where it came from... I don't actually click a lot of those links.

Who's forgetting it? I remember FBC the same way I remember the 6000005 other things I'm behind on. Unfortunately, I have to catch on some before others. Sorry for the wait.

Like your member title, btw? (Like Sab's, only the recipient is likely to understand it.)

Ah, well - I guess I go back to waiting pseudo-patiently. Though Zeke, if you wanna have only 6000004 things you're behind on, I do think asking somebody else to run the FBC, like PHJ mentioned, might be a good idea - even while it's actually up and running, it needs the kind of nudging and stick-poking you can't be expected to have the time for. And when it's *not* up and running, well, all the more so, I suppose...

Yes, very much like the member name :D Suits the avatar, and mehopes the poster as well. ;)

So the question is this - what is the optimal frequency for posting and attempting to bump FBC slightly higher on the to-do list, without becoming more annoying than I already am?

...or is the second one a lost cause?

catalina_marina
08-26-2004, 03:34 PM
^Probably.

Don't worry Standback. There are a couple of things I think everyone would agree are more important. After that, I'm sure FBC will soon return.

...Right Zeke?

We hope. I would like to help with FBC if, and when, it returns.

Take, for example, this instance.

I'll take a look at the blocks later today, after I finish something important I have to do for 5MV's big December event. Maybe by then the Universal Kick-The-Zeke Festival will be over for a while....

Well, it's been three days, and no-one has given any other suggestions or preferences.

And plus, I have said it is so, therefore it is so. For some reason no-one ever seems to realise that that's how the universe works. ;)
