It hasn't been the hottest summer I've ever seen, but it has been awfully humid and I'm done with it for this year. Fall is my favorite season, and I was wondering what it's like for other people.

You understand, I like having four seasons. Fall all the time would get boring, just like winter, spring, or summer. I need all four.

I like all of them too, but spring with its new greens and flowers and rain and warming temperatures and just general new life-ness is probably my favorite.

Here's a "seasonal" bump. I apologize for the weak joke.

Wow, and I thought I had a monopoly on bad humour. Also, Boardwalk and Park Place.

...dang, I like two different seasons. Unfair.

So why is summer your favorite?

Flying Gremlin

...why do you insult me so? Hate summer, hate winter, love everything in between.

Then who voted for summer? I voted for fall and NAHTMMM voted for spring.

Is there anyone else out there who wants to vote?

There. Voted.

I'll go with fall. Not too hot, not too cold, and all the TV shows come back with new seasons that don't start to suck till later.

DS9 6.

It's no TNG 3.

Okay, the joke is getting out of hand. If you want to debate the best all-round season of Trek, you're welcome to create a new thread.

Along these lines, what jokes exist where you are along the subject of seasons? For example, in Minnesota we joke that there are two seasons: winter and road construction. The same joke seems to exist throughout the northern half of the continent.

St. Louis gets the "don't like the weather, wait a minute and it'll change" line, and our share of remembering that it's not the heat, it's the humidity.

Not a joke, but the iconic Thing To Do in winter in St. Louis is to go sledding down Art Hill, in front of the Art Museum in Forest Park.

In Minnesota that joke usually involves five or ten minutes, one would just be silly! (Massive sarcasm ;))

probably fall or autumn
