View Full Version : How should I name my cat?

Nic Corelli

So I gave up on the room mate... I decided to get a cat instead. Cats are far less annoying than room mates. They don`t pay rent, though, but nevermind, :D

But how should I name it? I asked my friends - one suggested Ricardo, the other Belzebub. They`re not very useful.

Anyone useful on this Forum? :p[/color:post_uid0]

Like NAH said, no matter what you name it it's not going to come when you call. I usualy find that if you wait a whild animals will name them selves. It will do something or will make you think of something, and you'll have your name.

and if that doesn't work, take Celeste's advice :D[/color:post_uid0]

I was about to suggest Delenn, but I figure it's a tomcat, no? Name it John. It's a good solid name for a creature with nine lives :)

I'm kidding. I say give it a good Elvish name. But only because I have a fetish for Elvish names. Harrumph. Katy Jane has good ideas, though: you might want to listen to her.[/color:post_uid0]

Black and white: Oreo.

Orange: Ginger, although that's a bit obvious.

My friend, you are in for a treat. :)

[i:post_uid0]Ice and Fire[/i:post_uid0] has been, like, my #1 favorite book (series) since I found it in 2000. Martin is brilliant in every single aspect of writing. Complex and gripping plots, wonderful (and numerous) characters, best job of world creation since Tolkien (except without the slow, plodding narrative...), and all so original and detailed...

OK, I'll be quiet now.[/color:post_uid0]

::blink blink:: Map of England? How come you call it that? Is there much similarity between the Seven Kingdoms map and that of England?

If so, that's very interesting, because the series is (very loosely) based on the War of Roses, so...

In any case, it's definitely a neat map... And neater yet is the way we actually hear about so many of the places on it, and then visit them, one by one...

I have renamed her from Kathryn to Oddity. The Croatian word for that is Čudo. Pronounced Tchudo.

Mostly because of her attempts at destroying the furniture, attacking the cellphone and switching the channel during DS9. And other, numerous examples of odd behaviour...

Gotta go with Pointy with "Irulan" for a female.

Maybe Leto or Atreus if a boy? ;)

Hmm...

Tiel (tee-ell), Koei (koh-way), Turin, Nam Rii (nom-ree), Wist, Yumyum, Ameretat, Damathat, Pantalaimon, Spud, Yamamanama, Vantigo, Caylem, Padma, Waru, Amaani, Lucco, Sennin, Huan, Pi, Cashew, Velcro, Spline, Spaz, Maitake (my-ta-keh, s'Japanese), Kiku, Ginaz, Chani, Ramallo...

*shrug* Depends on the cat, I suppose. ;)

Try hand raiseing kittens some time, then you've realy have mini kids on your hands :O Albeit its kind of an accelrated process. When we got our kitty Zebu we hand to bottle feed her for about a month every 4 hours or so :O. Then when they (both she and or other cat Shadow were hand raised this way) grow up they realy do think they are human. After 13 years Shadow still gets upset that we wont let him eat at the table and Zebu refuses eat alone. and they only way she will allow us to hold her is if we cradle her on her back like a baby [/color:post_uid0]

The cell phone managed to survive multiple onslaughts of jaws and fangs. But not without several scratches and falling apart in three pieces!

Wow. That's one very white cat. And the cellphone thing is so cute....

My parents have picked up two new cats without warning in the last six months. I haven't even seen one of them (it was after my move to Waterloo).
