This is a desperate cry for help. I've been assigned to design a poster for my campus music group's Welcome Tea and it's due BY THE END OF THE WEEK. I am, to put it succinctly, [i:post_uid1]screwed[/i:post_uid1].

I've gotten a brilliant idea for the poster background, which is to cover it with the words "The Electronic Music Lab" in many different languages, over and over.

And that's where you guys come in! If you can speak a language, any language other than English, [b:post_uid1]what is "The Electronic Music Lab" in that language?[/b:post_uid1] I don't even care if the translation is a hundred percent correct; it's not like people will try to translate it anyway!

Dutch, German, French, Latin, Hebrew... anything and everything, please help me! :)

[b:post_uid1]THANK YOU![/b:post_uid1][/color:post_uid1]

Or with capital letters at the beginning of each word, if you like.

Ok I just did some research for you and google language translator and click on Babelfish something or other. Try some other different sites. I don't speak Spanish, but I did that one for you. ;)

Post Edit: Ok I did more work for you, don't say that your Admiral never did nothing for you:

I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say that "laboratorie", if it's the correct word, is female. Especially since it end in ie. Scary though, that it was just a feeling at first.

I'd look it up for you, but I don't have that particular dictionary near me right now.

And Standback, it does show up. Well... Something does anyway. :eyeroll:[/color:post_uid0]

Hmm... 17, how many people in your music group know how Hebrew looks?[/color:post_uid0]

I know how Hebrew looks! I took a semester of Hebrew and my professor was very impressed with how quickly I picked it up. I made the highest grade in the class. Not to brag or anything. ;)

LOL Marc, aren't we having a discussion much like this one somewhere else? ;)[/color:post_uid0]

Alexia: Obviously, you're unfamiliar with our "Fun With Google" threads. ;)
Standback: Yes, I can see the Hebrew! And I know what it *looks* like (my dad has business partners in Israel and he has all these Israeli stamps)... nevermind that I can't read it... it's just for the effect.
And Cat: "Laboratorij električne glazbe". *mutters about the genitive case* ;)[/color:post_uid14]

standback: I went to a Christian University and they offer Greek and Hebrew. My last semester there I took the Hebrew course because I'd taken every other class with my favorite Professor and it seemed interesting to learn. I would have went on to take Hebrew II, but I could no longer afford college so I had to quit. My Professor was upset that I left because he said if I'd taken Hebrew II I probably would have gotten the Hebrew award at the end of the year. Sigh. Oh well, I still have my Hebrew primer and I've been teaching myself the rest.[/color:post_uid0]

Now I don't know it without the vowels yet. We were going to learn that in the second semester and I didn't get to that. I know the letters and how to say certain words. Like I read the Book of Ruth in Hebrew and understood everything. It's been awhile though and I'm out of practice. Did I get the letters write? ;) If I had vowels I could probably guess the word.[/color:post_uid0]

All except the last one, which was a final מ, (written ם), not a samech (ס). They look similar enough that you get full credit.

Full transliteration, with vowels, would be: HaRachefet Sheli Mele'ah BeTzlofchadim .[/color:post_uid0]
