Today is Alfred Hitchcock Day. :)

Tomorrow (the 13th) is Jewel Day (as in gems, I assume).

The 15th is "Everything You Think is Wrong" Day.

But the 16th will be "Everything You Do is Right" Day. :S

And the 17th is [b:post_uid0]Submarine[/color:post_uid0][/b:post_uid0] Day.[/color:post_uid0]

Oh, I am. I am.

I'll try to make up for it with a stupid little jingle:

[quote:post_uid0]
[i:post_uid0]My constant has a first name, it's three-ee-ee-ee-ee,
My constant has a second name, it's one-four-one-five-nine-two-six-five-three-five-eight-nine-seven-nine-three-two-three-eight

All right, now that my last-minute crunch at college is over (?), I can get back to doing these. Unfortunately, it is already too late for such meaningful, exciting days as Save the Rhino Day, National Candied Orange Peel Day, Lost Sock Memorial Day, Limerick Day, and National Dance Like A Chicken Day (which was yesterday, if you don't mind being 24 hours late).

Today (May the 15th) is [b:post_uid0]National Chocolate Chip (http://www-pub.naz.edu:9000/~cakuczek/images/chocolate%20chip%20cookies.jpg) Day[/b:post_uid0]! Mmm-mmm. :)

May 19th will be Frog Jumping (http://is6.pacific.net.hk/~plastics/Capsule_Toys/images/Hundred_Frogs.jpg) Jubilee Day.[/color:post_uid0]

There are 11 letters in "taxi drivers". 57 - 11 = 46, which by some coincidence ( :eyeroll: ) just happens to be the square of the IQ of the person who posted just before the post I quote here. So there. :p

:D Thanks everybody - you guys are the best, seriously.

Yes, keen swag indeed - my friend Nate got me a Taoist charm that's supposed to bring good fortune (I'm very much into Eastern philosophy - Western too)

I'm horrible at throwing parties - so we actually ended up, instead of going to the movies last night like we'd planed, we went back over to Nate's and had a movie night - and they got me a cake :D - It was the first time I've ever seen the Evil Dead movies - crazy stuff.

But, back at the ranch - my cousins sent a box full of randomness - very much like themselves to get. T'was great.

My mom also got a DVD player! Whoo! Also very cool.

And last but definitely not least...

A BRAND NEW CAR!

Well, ok - it's been used, probably quite a bit - but it's in excellent condition - '98 White Chevy Lumina - 75,000 miles, Automatic Transmission, 3.1 Liter V6 engine, AC, power locks, but crank down windows (eh, can't have it all).

A very cool couple of days - a very sweet 16.

Thank you all for the warm wishes, kind words, lovely graphics and overall zaniness - as I said before you're all truly the best and as good of friends as I've come to know.[/color:post_uid0]

Now, for some reason I remember thinking that there was somebody in particular here who would especially be interested to know that October is [b:post_uid0]National Sarcastics Month[/b:post_uid0]. However, try as I might, I can't imagine who that would be. :S And I've got a feeling that there are people here who'll find [b:post_uid0]Computer Learning Month[/b:post_uid0], [b:post_uid0]Adopt-a-Dog Month[/b:post_uid0], and [b:post_uid0]National Dessert Month[/b:post_uid0] (any, er, cake lovers here, perhaps?) to be worth celebrating, but I'm kinda at a loss as to who I'm thinking of. Â Â ;)

Today, October 2nd, is [b:post_uid0]Name Your Car Day[/b:post_uid0]. I haven't named my new car, but I gave my old clunky red Celebrity a name. I just forget what it was. :D It wasn't very complimentary, I'm sure of that much. Numerous irritating part failures, a lack of A/C, and an ignition-engine combo that had to be allowed to idle between one and two minutes if you didn't want it to conk out the first time you hit the brakes... :eyeroll:

Tomorrow (the 3rd) is National Virus Appreciation Day.

The 6th (next Monday) is German-American Day, and also Come and Take It Day.

The 7th of October will be National Frappe Day.

And the 9th will be Moldy[/color:post_uid0] Cheese Day[/color:post_uid0].[/color:post_uid0]

Arrrgh. I [i:post_uid0]technically[/i:post_uid0] begin my math/comp science major this month, but only on the 27th. Next month would really be more appropriate. Could anyone look into that?

As for Dessert Month... does it [i:post_uid0]have[/i:post_uid0] to come when I'm on a diet? I mean, honestly. Twenty carefree and weightful year, and the moment I express the slightest interest in getting into (nonspherical) shape, they go and spring National Dessert Month on me? Sheesh. Woot! PHJ, your uncle had a Lada? We used to have an old, beat-up one (they stopped importing them to Singapore about 15 years ago so at that time the only ones available were about ten years old)... my sis and I called it the "Denterprise", but my parents called it the [i:post_uid0]ti-ka chia[/i:post_uid0], which bascially means "tank" in Hokkien. It was because we once got broadsided by a speeding drunk driver and only damage our car suffered was a dent in one of the side doors because the metal plating was so tough.

We have a Honda Accord 2.3 now that my sis christened "Kathryn"... but my favourite car is still the Toyota Previa we rented when we were in New Zealand... I called it "Aru" because it was part of its number plate. My sis and I took a photo with the car before we returned it... I still have the photo somewhere. Maybe I should upload it...

Edit: Woot! Post no. 1701! Whee Denterprise![/color:post_uid0]

An entire actual Doctor Who scene is devoted to pi and pie!

[The Master crosses a checkerboard deathtrap unharmed.]
[b:post_uid0]Master[/b:post_uid0]: Try it, Doctor, it's as easy as [i:post_uid0]pi[/i:post_uid0]. [Exits]
[b:post_uid0]Doctor[/b:post_uid0]: What an extraordinary fellow. "As easy as pie"? "As easy as pie"?
[b:post_uid0]Tegan[/b:post_uid0]: That's what he said.
[b:post_uid0]Doctor[/b:post_uid0]: No, he didn't! He said "As easy as pi," the Greek letter pi! Surely you know some basic mathematics, child?
[b:post_uid0]Tegan[/b:post_uid0]: Course! The ratio of the circumferance of a circle ... to its diameter ... is expressed by the Greek letter pi, right?
[b:post_uid0]Doctor[/b:post_uid0]: Correct. You find the safe route across the board by using the mathematical formula pi. Oh, but the application, the application ... Let me see now. 3.14159265 -- yes! [He walks across the board unharmed, then gestures to Tegan] Now!
[b:post_uid0]Tegan[/b:post_uid0]: I sure hope you've got your sums right.

... I didn't say it wasn't a silly one. :)
