I think the fiver for "Demon" was a whole lot better than the episode itself, lol.

Overall, great fivers.[/color:post_uid0]

>> Hehehe, I pride myself on getting one of Marcs subtle jokes about Brahms lullaby. <<

Hmm...I wasn't aware I'd made one. (This may set a new record in subtlety -- an allusion that even the author doesn't get.) Which part refers to the Brahms lullaby?[/color:post_uid0]

Brahms lullaby is the one that goes "Rock a bye baby, on the tree top, when the bow [i:post_uid0]breaks[/i:post_uid0] the cradle will drop" right? lol

The whole she's good at "breaking attachemnts" fits as a joke.[/color:post_uid0]

Ah, I see. I was just drawing a parallel with Leah gettying the creature off the hull and Leah torpedoing Geordi's infatuation with her, so the lullaby reference was completely unintentional -- or at least it was unconscious. I'm not always fully conscious when I write fivers (due only to lack of sleep, I hasten to add).[/color:post_uid0]

First, great work everybody! I'm among those who've been soared "Demon" in the flesh, so yay, and I enjoyed the send-ups of both "Haven" ("Good riddance!" Hee!) and "Galaxy's Child" ("fantasy vs reality intermix" yay!).

Brahm's Lullabye has the lyrics:
Lullabye and good-night
With roses bedight
With lilies bedecked
Is baby's wee bed.
Lay thee down now and rest
May thy slumber be blessed
Lay thee down now and rest
May thy slumber be blessed

At least, the way I learned it. Different tune from "Rockabye Baby."

OK bye.

Yep, Merlin Missy, that's the one. I've sung that and Rock-a-bye (and Hush-a-bye) Baby enough times to know as well. ;)

If I'd had my pick, I'd watch "Course:Oblivion" over "Demon" any day. [ducks] But the battle for the worst VOY episode ever... belongs in another forum, I'd say.[/color:post_uid0]

That's how Mum used to sing it to me, many moons ago.

I haven't actually got a kid of my own *g*[/color:post_uid0]

Specifically, Wallace pasted to the wall in oatmeal.

A joke along those lines:

Two women are talking together, and one of them says, "You know, sometimes it seems that I've spent my whole life saying things like 'Wipe your feet when you come into the house...don't chew with your mouth open...pick up your clothes from the floor.' " She pauses, then adds, "And then, just when I *finally* got my husband domesticated, the children came."[/color:post_uid0]
