Today, at long last, is the AU Week closing ceremony. You can get the lowdown here (http://3sygma.com/fiveminute/news/redesign31.html). I'd say more, but it's pretty much all covered there.

(Oh, by the way, a birthday shoutout to forumgoer NAHTMMM.)[/color:post_uid0]

Well done on Eye of the Beholder, Kira. I've never seen so many references packed into a single fiver *g*.

And if I understand your announcement correctly, Zeke, you're basically turning this into a blog? Nan's wish comes true.[/color:post_uid0]

Oh, not a blog -- that's quite a different thing. I'll clarify that in tomorrow's post.

"Nan's wish"?[/color:post_uid0]

Nice Buffy fiver, Zeke. That was always one of my favorite eps.

By the way, is the tacos thing in your Angel fiver from TrekBBS? or was the TrekBBS reference about tacos and Angel from the show?[/color:post_uid0]

Aaaah -- attack of the dissappearing avatars! (mine should still be up ;))

On topic, I gave my compliments; very nice design. I haven't read the new fivers yet, but rest assured I will not soon (meaning soon). Perhaps now.[/color:post_uid0]

Actually, it's tacos and Fred, not Angel. It's based on this scene from "There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb":

[quote:post_uid0]Fred takes a step closer and yells 'Tacos!' making Angel jump.
Fred: "Sorry. I didn't mean to holler at you. (Sits down beside Angel) I love tacos. Do they still have them? You know, back..."
Angel: "...home? Yeah, they didn't outlaw tacos."
Fred: "Oh, of course not. I've been trying to make an enchilada out of tree bark."
Angel: "Bark enchiladas. Huh. - How's that going?"
Fred:Â "There is work to be done." [/quote:post_uid0][/color:post_uid0]

(... unless, perhaps, it was one of Derek's ;) ) Yes indeedy, nicely done. :)

Liked 'em all, as a matter of fact, including matching the terser style of the Buffy fivers, as compared to most of the others. Good to hear from Jade again, too!

On the new 5MV main page: it's going to take a little getting used to, but I think I like it already. It's certainly more compact, and (perhaps because of this) seems to load more quickly than the other one.[/color:post_uid0]

Whoo, what a lovely [b:post_uid0]birthday[/b:post_uid0] present, Zeke! New fivers--just what I was [b:post_uid0]wish[/b:post_uid0]ing for!

"Prayer" was great all the way through. Several parts that stood out for me:
[quote:post_uid0]Crichton: What definition of "critically-acclaimed" are we using here?
Scorpius: Those who failed to acclaim it are in critical condition.

Rygel: They're taking too long. I say we leave immediately.
Chiana: How can you say that?
Rygel: I always say that. What's the situation again?[/quote:post_uid0]

[quote:post_uid0]Crichton: And I don't want to know what that thing is.
DRD'Argo: Shut up.[/quote:post_uid0]

This one cracked me up:
[quote:post_uid0]
Scorpius: Very well. On an unrelated topic, may I borrow your gun again?
Crichton: Okay. But what could you possibly be planning to --
Aeryiana: GAK!
Crichton: Scorpius, you unpredictable fiend![/quote:post_uid0]

The Buffy fiver was good too.
[quote:post_uid0]Xander: Well, I for one have decided I'm better off. What did Cordy ever do for me besides permanently sacrifice her social standing? It's not like she was incredibly hot and genuinely cared about me. I mean, come on, I didn't exactly throw away every guy's dream girlfriend. Will?
Willow: Yes?
Xander: Hold me.[/quote:post_uid0]
*sniggers*

[quote:post_uid0]Vampire: GRRRR! Oh, wait, is this a dramatic scene? I can come back.
Buffy: You do that. But first, die.[/quote:post_uid0]

The best part was probably
[quote:post_uid0]Vampire Willow: She also mentioned the Slayer.
The Master: What? Go kill her before she can do it again![/quote:post_uid0]
:D Now that I think about it, sometimes the archvillain does seem to have an allergic reaction to some phrase that a good guy always manages to blurt out...

[quote:post_uid0]Cordelia: Whoa. That was weird. I had a vision, and severe pain, and... okay, I guess it wasn't weird.
Angel: Cordelia! Answer us!
Wesley: It's no good... her body's out of commission, though her spirit may just be invisible somewhere else in the room, watching us and talking about things not being weird.
Cordelia: Well, obviously I stand corrected.[/quote:post_uid0]
Heeheehee. :D

And this exchange was great:
[quote:post_uid0]Angel: Hey, you're a gelatinous cube!
Conduit: What? First of all, I'm made of stone, and second, I'm on fire.
Angel: Oh. I kinda thought all big underground cubes were gelatinous.
Conduit: You realize your chances of getting help from me just dropped to about one percent.[/quote:post_uid0]

The best parts of the TNG fiver were
[quote:post_uid0]Lieutenant Nara: No, except he kept going around muttering "Empathic echos in the nacelle tube make Dan something something."

...
Troi: Yes. I sense dead people.

Crusher: My expert medical opinion is that you shouldn't try to sense the dead people again.
Troi: Try sensing the dead people again? Thanks, that's a great idea!
Riker: You'll need people of intelligence on this sort of mission. Quest. Thing.
Worf: That rules you out. Where are we going?
Troi: The empathic echo was forged deep in the nacelle tube, in fires of the plasma vents. Only there can it be destroyed.
[/quote:post_uid0]

[quote:post_uid0]Worf: Commander, I have a hypothetical situation for you. If a Klingon security chief wished to mate with a Betazoid counsellor --
Riker: Stay away from my girl, Worf.
Worf: If she were your girl, you wouldn't have to tell me that. Besides, you know what they say about all good things.
Riker: You're just asking for an insurrection, buster.
Worf: You leave me no choice. (ahem) Worf and Troi, sitting in a --
Riker: Okay, okay, you can go out with her. I just hope you're not too attached to your beard.[/quote:post_uid0]
That entire paragraph was about a 'ship, I'm sure of that much, but I don't think it was W/T...

[quote:post_uid0]La Forge: Let's see what the scanner can -- whoa. I see a dead people.
Body: I'm not dead.
Troi: Yes, you are. You're in a bulkhead.
Body: I feel better. I think I'll go for a walk.
La Forge: Data, you're not fooling anyone. Stop throwing your voice.
Data: Aw.[/quote:post_uid0]
 That was great!
[quote:post_uid0]Troi: ...so when Pierce murdered the other two and then killed himself, he left an imprint in the corridor that made me and Kwan hallucinate.
Worf: That doesn't make much sense.[/quote:post_uid0]
Troi's hallucinations never seem to make sense, do they? ;) Loved the jumpin' good blurb for this one, though. Great fiver.

[quote:post_uid0][Insert the first half-dozen paragraphs of "Emanations" here][/quote:post_uid0]

[quote:post_uid0]Torres: Captain, dead bodies keep appearing on Voyager and the subspace thingumies that deliver them are really dangerous.
Tuvok: Plus, y'know, dead bodies are just creepy.[/quote:post_uid0]
I liked that one in particular too.

And the long-awaited blurb for "All Good Things..." is great too. :)
All in all, the update was well worth waiting for.[/color:post_uid0]

By the way, forgot to mention that I like the new design. It's just like Windows: 3.1 is just like 3.0, except that the interface is twenty times nicer. Will the next site redesign be version 95?[/color:post_uid0]

It stays three pages long.
Oh well, Andromeda is all I care about, so the size of the page doesn't matter, s'long as the link to that works.[/color:post_uid0]

I enjoyed all the new fivers - however, I've only seen "Emanations" and "The Eye of the Beholder", so those were the most interesting. Â There are just too many good quotes, not to mention all the ones that are already taken :). Â

I like new look on the front page a lot - and it loads faster on my slowpoke connection.

New fivers (although I was late in catching them), new look *and* e-mail from Scott Adams today. That's a good day! :D[/color:post_uid0]
