Kira again, with a rare treat: a Voyager guest fiver. Â You may remember guest writer Nic Corelli from such fivers as "Symbiosis" and "Defiant", and today he brings us Five-Minute "Darkling (../voyager/darkling.html)."[/color:post_uid0]

[quote:post_uid0]Torres: Okay, so I had a roast beef, a fried lobster, Kung Pao chicken, three swordfishes, spaghetti bolognese, an octopus and ten chocolate sundaes. Oh yeah, and a cheesecake. Is that bad?

...
Kes: All your efforts are futile. I will never cross to the Daft Side.
Evil Doc: Come on, Kes! Can't you see that Evil is way cooler than Good?[/quote:post_uid0]

:D Lots of funny stuff![/color:post_uid0]

Ah, one that I was going to five but gave it up on it. I wonder if there is a reference to Virtual Season 8 when the doctor turns himself into a Klingon, lol. Ill go check it out now.[/color:post_uid0]

[quote:post_uid0]Janeway: I'm so happy you didn't leave with Zahir, Kes. Whom would I guide on a quest towards humanity and individuality then?
Kes: Well, it's always possible you'll find a new potential daughter to raise.
Janeway: Nonsense! Who could ever replace you, Kes?[/quote:post_uid0]
Very funny. :D[/color:post_uid0]

I could be wrong, but I think that's a [i:post_uid0]Seinfeld[/i:post_uid0] reference to an episode where Jerry and his girlfriend-of-the-episode get all mushy with each other and gross everyone out.[/color:post_uid0]

^ Oh, I see.

I'm afraid I wouldn't recognize any but the most pervasive Seinfeld references ("yada, yada, yada"; Soup Nazi; "not that there's anything wrong with that"; u.s.w.) -- never could watch that show for more than a couple of minutes.[/color:post_uid0]

>> Doc: Check out the improvements I made to my program! I added behavioral subroutines based on many cool historical figures.
Torres: Okay, Stalin and Marquis De Sade have to go.

Evil Doc: Actually, Marquis De Sade did that. Now come with me, Kes -- let's escape the captivity of this ship and rule the galaxy as Doctor and Nurse!

Chakotay: If you surrender, we'll let you live inside the Doctor's program. By our calculations, if we delete 2% of his sarcasm subroutine, there'll be enough space for five of you. <<

LOL![/color:post_uid0]

::wipes tears:: I haven't has such a good laugh in ages! There were many bits in the fiver I liked, but this one in particular had me in pieces:

[quote:post_uid0]Torres: What you failed to realize, Doc, is that you've also added dark sides of your celebrities into your program... their darklings, if I may say.
Doc: You're right... I've been so stupid. That must have been Britney and her daftling.
Torres: And since you also have Bill Gates' dorkling, your program will start crashing unstoppably very soon.

[/quote:post_uid0]

That kitten's doing better publicity for Nic than I thought it would. :D[/color:post_uid0]

Happy Leap Day, guys... the Jerusalem Gilbert and Sullivan Society is performing [i:post_uid0]Pirates of Penzance[/i:post_uid0] in about two weeks, so on the 29th they held a special preview (most of the actors, most of the songs), in honor of Frederick's birthday (his 37th or so, I believe). Lotta fun. I'm really looking forward to the actual production. :D[/color:post_uid0]
