So here's the deal. I moved to Waterloo a couple of months ago, and in the general confusion of classes, new TA duties, and having to (gasp) cook my own food, a number of things have gotten lost in the shuffle. In particular, I've been unable to watch or tape Enterprise's first three episodes. I'm very frustrated about this, but there's not much I can do on my end. I don't get the higher channels, so I only get one shot at taping ENT, and ResNet doesn't allow Kaz-- I mean, how dare you even suggest that I would use a file-sharing application? What am I, a common thief?



So... I am without Enterprise's first three episodes of S4. And without them, not only do I not get to watch my favourite show, but S4 of Five-Minute Enterprise can't begin.



And the President has been kidnapped by ninjas.



Are you a bad enough dude to save the President -- and Five-Minute Enterprise?



Here's what I need. I need a guy, or girl, with the first three S4 ENT eps on tape. I need this being of unspecified gender to send them to me by snail mail, the mail used by snails. I will pay the shipping fees and the cost of the tape(s) by PayPal or some other means, but not till I get them, because I trust no one. In return, the being in question will receive one (1) (π) reward of a nature to be decided later. It could be anything from a This Just In cameo to a fiver by me for some desired thing (ruling out of course things called by others).



Without this assistance, I'm pretty much skrelled. So please -- give generously. Only you can prevent forest fires.

It might be more convenient to seek out someone who can just download the episodes off Kazaa or Bittorrent (woo! Go Bittorrent!). Mailing a CD is a lot cheaper than mailing a tape, I would imagine -- you could probably get away with it within Canada under the usual postage.

I'd do it, if I had a computer (AARRGGH!) but no such luck for at least a couple more weeks.

Hmm. My main reason for suggesting a tape was quality, but I guess they don't need to look great for now, since I can catch them when they repeat in a few months. The other question would be legality. Are tapes any more legal than computer video files, does anyone know?

I'll try setting up BitTorrent tonight, but I suspect it uses the same port ResNet blocks Kazaa from using. Worth a shot, though.

Tapes or Internet files aren't legal, technically, but You shouldn't have any problems with either, unless you're a big fileserver, or one of those people who sneaks tapes out of production before a movie's been released.

(The companies would rather you use tapes, if you're wondering)

My theory is, what's the difference between me taping the show for free and fast-forwarding through the commercials, and downloading it for free with the commercials removed? It's not like I'm selling it or distributing it, so I have no qualms about pulling t.v. programs off BitTorrent. In fact, they should take it as a compliment. :D

I have Storm Front Part 1 on VHS and I live in Stoney Creek/Hamilton so it won't cost alot to mail it or take very long. Quality isn't that good, I taped it on LP & I'll have to transfer it to another tape to send it to you.

The only payment I ask is a reference to Karen's ziti. (It'll work once you've seen the episode, assuming you've watched Season 4 of the Sopranos, that is)

As for the other 2 episodes, I can try downloading them off bit torrent and then I can try sending them to you over MSN.

just an explanation: Steven R. Schirripa played "Carmine" in "Storm Front Part 1 & 2" the mobster, and he also played Bobby 'Bacala' Baccalieri on "The Sopranos". In Season 4 Tony's sister Janice kept trying to make Bobby eat Karen's ziti (a meal prepared by his dead wife). For. The. Entire. Season. And he didn't want to eat it and it was so sad and so very sad and so sad and pathos and drama and Karen's ziti and blah blah blah.

So weak! So lame! And its so burned into my head that I kept expecting Carmine in ENT Storm Front to start crying about Karen's ziti all over again.

Argh! Karen's ziti!! So much hate.

I have all three eps on one tape. Of course this is my one copy with Home on it... I'm in AL, USA so if persianmouse is closer get them from him/her. If not... I'll send them. I can't guarantee that I'm not a two headed monster sending you porn though. ;) It's a risk you'll have to take.

Well, I gave BitTorrent the old college try, but it's not working... so I'll have to go with the mail-me-stuff-you-fool plan. Of the offers presented so far, I like persianmouse's best. Thank you to the others who offered, however, or who would have offered had they been able.

Ewwwww, Days of Our Lives. You're right, better that I get the tape from someone else. ;)

There's no reason I can't kill off Koss -- I've killed off other characters before (e.g. Mayweather in "A Night in Sickbay"). But I don't even know why I should be doing so since I haven't seen the episode.

In regards to Days: at this point I have to agree. It's making me mad. I haven't watched it in a few weeks because I'm giving this recent storyline a chance to blow over. :) So that's why I'm recording over my tape with Enterprise episodes.

hi, i could send you all 4 episodes. via e-mail or i cut put them on our own webserver and give you a link.... if thats legal where you live. here its legal. (right for private copy is good in europe). And also i think paramount wouldn´t be angry, even i f you would be in a "grey" legal zone, download ENT401,02,03,04 from european servers.
