Guys, I'm having major issues with Trillian at the moment and, knowing how clever you all are (and that loads of you use it as well) I was wondering if anyone could help me.

Every time I open my totally 100% illegally upgraged version of Trillian pro, I get this message:-

I haven't installed a new plugin or anything...

Any ideas? It only just started happening yesterday after months and months of working fine.

I'm not good at empathy, will you settle for sarcasm?

You don't settle for me, you consider yourself lucky to get me.

*pause*

Sorry, someone secretly set my ego to "obnoxiously high". It's fixed now.

*waits for someone to append "to go away" to the end of my first sentence*

I thought obnoxiously high was the defualt setting?

Why are you using an illegal upgrade, Lexy? I can't afford the full version, but the free version has always been sufficient to my needs. It's less likely to mess up on you, too.

Probably because the free version won't even allow you to give your contacts aliasses. And I refuse to chat with someone named ***YAY!!!1 got my new pc 3ghz, geforce 4 128mb!! check out my website blah.nl!***

I'm sorry to say that most of my friends do that. So now I use aMSN under Linux.

Uh... yes it does.

Because I'm a bad bad person

Don't tell anyone (like the police or anything  ) but I have a LOT of software I probably shouldn't have...

I have the upgrade because my best friends brother sent it to me. Incidentally, he is also the one who told me how to fix the problem.

But yes, you are right, if I used the normal, un-messed up with version, I would probably not have half the problems. But then again, what fun would that be? You should know by now honey that I never do things the easy way

Uh, lets count the non-illegal programs on my computer.

Uh..

Uh...

I'll get back to you. :)

Uh... yes it does.

I just checked and it seems you're right. I'm sure there was a version in between that didn't allow it, though. It was the reason I stopped using it.

By the way: I think the only 'illegal' thing on my pc is a small keyboard (the music kind) program. For the most part I much prefer open source programs. And not just because they're free. For a lot of them I'd be happy to pay money.

Yeah, Alexia, I was having the same problem! I'm not 100% sure how I fixed it, but it doesn't happen anymore.

I'll get back to you. :)
I have the same problem, just I do have a few non-illegal programs, such as Firefox, for example. :D

Also, the thing that really sold (Maaaybe that's not the perfect word ;)) me on Pro was that it recalles the previous x lines of your conversation history into the chat window! It's really helpful when you have a serious addiction to widow-closing like I do. :)

I've a few illegal copies of things, mostly because before I couldn't afford them. Now that I've got a PayPal account and can atually pay for stuff on-line I might see about getting legal versions instead (but not all at the same time - some of them are not cheap).

Um, let's see. There's Internet Explorer...and Minesweeper...and Solitaure...oh, and MS Word.

And my tablet software. Er...

Let me run a search...
