Am I sick of making "I'm not dead" updates? Yes. Am I about to make another one? Well, yeah.

This being the end of the fall term, I've been kept hopping. Last week I had a presentation and an exam for one of my courses, plus proctoring and marking duties for a course I'm TAing. This week? A presentation and an exam for my other course and proctoring and marking duties for the other course I'm TAing. If I'd gone into this with some momentum built up, it wouldn't have been a problem, but for some time now I've been running on fumes where 5M.net is concerned. This isn't my usual writer's block complaint; on the contrary, I'm brimming with ideas and plans and such. It's sitting down and doing them that I've sucked at lately.

All I can say is that I'll keep trying. I haven't given up on this site and I'm not going to. I've just been a little bummed out.

I can attest that TAing and marking are time-consuming, especially if you actually read what you're marking.

It goes a lot faster if a quarter of your students don't bother to hand anything in.

I was a math TA once, too, and I can attest to how much work it is to grade/mark homework and exams. What's worse, one of our fellow grad students decided after a few months that math was not for her, and moved over to some social studies department, where the tests were all the multiple-choice optical scan kind. Her grading was done in five minutes! Grrrrrr....

Where's the Enterprise/Voyager computer when you need it? "Computer, grade these."

If I ever become a dental hygiene teacher, that's the kind of tests i'm going to give! Multiple choice, baby! :D

I'd do multiple choice with all wrong choices, requiring the students to write the right answers all over the sheet.

That oughta lighten the workload after a test or two...

We're all kept hopping at times... seems everyone wants everything done before the end of the year. Hang in there, Zeke!

Are you sure you're not a Discworldian witch? A few more misspellings in that post and I'd have been convinced that you'd been off Borrowing.

Am I missing something here? I guess I'm a bit behind on my reading. Oh, and by the way, nice Rudolph outfit.

Just to let you guys know, I'm now finished my duties for the term and I just arrived in Ottawa. In theory, I should have ample time to relax in the next couple of weeks. (In theory.) The first order of business will be finally wrapping up the Smallville event, which I've unfairly delayed for a reason I'll explain in the update. Look for that tomorrow.
