View Full Version : The eTrektion Thread

eTrektion time! This time, to make sure things keep moving, I'm setting myself a rule: there has to be something eTrektion-related on the site each week until it's over. [EDIT: Boy was that a bust.] The first thing I need from you guys so I can do that is a full, current list of the candidates/parties, and email addresses I can reach you at (one per party). I tried digging through the old threads, but too much has changed since then to rely on them, so please post here.

Myself, for president, and my running mate (Poor old Yodck) for- erk!

yodck: Switch the order around, hmmm? More logical that way it is!

And, yes, my email address is in my profile. (And it is the address of my party. Heh)

Right now, it's so tempting to register 'morphineparty.com' just so we could use morphineparty@morphineparty.com (or anything@morphineparty.com) as the group email... - which gives me an idea.

Argh, you finally forced me on the forums. I'm Mark from before (I know the forum name REALLY didn't give that one away...), but I'm going to be running in the "Conspicuous Outsider" party as I really have no idea what's going on in here... I'm reachable at mmazzone@gmail.com.

Right, well, you finally got me to join for this thing. I'm throwing my hat back into the ring for the eTrektion (I'm the only one with a full name from the original TJIs...). I'll be running under the 'Conspicuous Outsider' party, as I have no idea really what's going on, lol. I can be reached at mmazzone@gmail.com.

Everything was "let to pasture." I didn't single this one thing out for neglect. I suck globally, not locally.

Cows, for example.

Probably sheep as well.

Chancellor Valium
08-22-2006, 08:42 PM
Sheep, yes. Except in Wales, where they stand in the middle of the road in front of oncoming cars, like stags at bay, until the last possible moment, before jumping out of the way looking very surprised.

Oh, no no no! You're not taking blame for this one. Us forumgoers let it go, because it was a forumgoer-led thing, with forumgoers making up campaign posters, slogans, red books, etc. This one is all our fault.

Zeke
08-23-2006, 12:52 AM
The only reason it was a forumgoer-led thing in the first place is that for about a year, you were the only ones doing anything with it. The eTrektion can't go anywhere when I don't post stuff. Forum activity helps, but it can't carry the whole thing.

Uh, this is amazingly off-topic, and if there's a FAQs out there I should be reading, please direct me, but...

Is there any point at all to eTrektions? At all? Or is it just a place where a bunch of people can pretend to follow the political process whilst making fun of it?

Of course there's no point to the eTrektion. If you expect to find points, you've come to the wrong place.

Unless you try insulting Star Trek. Then you'd find plenty of points. Waiting in dark alleys for you... and knowing e of pi, probably full of nanoprobes as well...

Nate the Great
10-06-2006, 07:50 PM

I don't assimilate Trek-haters. They are not worthy of achieving Our state of Perfection. Same reasons as with the Kazon. Except without the hair gel.

Yet another indication of my dementia is that muddy's post made me picture Zeke in a Proto Man costume.

PointyHairedJedi
10-13-2007, 03:47 PM
Proto Man... you mean, homo floresiensis? If he went around on his knees, it would sort of work, but there's no way of making Zeke's head less big (and believe me, we've all tried).

Nate the Great
10-13-2007, 04:54 PM
I mean that in the original Japanese, Proto Man isn't Proto Man, he's called Blues. And Mega Man is called Rock, to form a really sad joke with Roll. Apparently there was some sort of music theme going on with Dr. Light's bots. You might call it the same whimsy that Dr. Soong used.

I try, I really do, but I keep imagining explosions, lasers, or me sitting on a huge throne made from the bones of my enemies after my ascent to world domination. Sometimes I imagine it upholstered with leather, and sometimes velour; either way, it's always very comfy.
