Sa'ar Chasm 05-17-2003 08:39 PM

I just finished reading Night Watch. Kinda neat to see a map of Ankh Morpork and get an idea of where things are.[/color:post_uid0]

PointyHairedJedi 05-17-2003 08:51 PM

You mean you don't have the Ankh Morpork street map?

I guess you have even more reason to be jealous then.[/color:post_uid0]

[quote:post_uid0]You mean you don't have the Ankh Morpork street map?[/quote:post_uid0]

I haven't got the Discworlde Mappe either. I have no idea where Genua, Lancre, Hersheba or Muntab are.

Well, I don't think anyone knows where Muntab is.

"Then there's the Muntab question."
"Where's Muntab?"
"Exactly."
- possibly Vetinari and Vimes, The Fifth Elephant

[quote:post_uid0]I guess you have even more reason to be jealous then.[/quote:post_uid0]

My local library is somewhat understocked, and all-consuming book giant Chapters-Indigo doesn't seem to have it.

They don't have Mein Kampf, either.[/color:post_uid0]

PointyHairedJedi 05-17-2003 09:08 PM

The Lancre map is quite good - you get to see the exact location the the Place Where The Sun Doesn't Shine (and of course the Rock And A Hard Place).[/color:post_uid0]

[/quote:post_uid0]

What about Lancre town? I'm given to understand that it doesn't show up on maps of the country. It barely shows up on maps of the town.[/color:post_uid0]

PointyHairedJedi 05-17-2003 11:09 PM

Well, it does show the castle, or those bits of it that haven't fallen off during the night anyway.[/color:post_uid0]

The Vulcan Science Directorate has proven that UPN is illogical and needs to go take a chill pill.[/color:post_uid0]

Speak to me not of being too busy. You can not win this challenge. ;)

However, despite lack of free time, [i:post_uid0]Monty Python and the Holy Grail[/i:post_uid0] is one of my favorite movies and certainly worth what little spare time you have. The stuff they were quoting is from the opening credits... I'd explain in full so you could understand, but then it wouldn't be as funny if you ever saw it.[/color:post_uid0]

NAHTMMM 05-23-2003 01:25 PM

^Except I was quoting from a skit. :)[/color:post_uid0]

Nan 05-25-2003 04:23 AM

Make that eight web projects, three comics, high school completion and about six extra courses. ;)

And my computer has been sick with a nervous breakdown for the past three days.

What is it about being a fiver overlord that inevitably involves no time at all being left over for fiverdom?

Note: there should be a 5MV Glossary of Terms with special nouns and things. ;)

Yeah, the Wal-Mart air destroys your brain.[/color:post_uid0]

Nan 05-28-2003 05:53 AM

I should tell you: calling me silly results in immediate amputation of nearest extremity.

I mean, like, fivist, fiver, fivedom (or equiv), etc, five-minute-specific terms that don't sound as stupid as "fiverdom" etc.

And speaking of making people jealous, i bought a copy of the voyager companion on Saturday and we couldn't be happier together.

Speaking of Vulcans (even though we aren’t anymore…
***Warning, enterprise season finale spoiler!***

Archer: T'Pol you just resigned you commission with the Vulcan high command, what are you going to do now?

T'Pol: I'm going to Disney Land!

Archer: Uh, T'Pol... (whispers)

T'Pol: Oh, right. I'm going to that big crater in Florida where Trip's sister died.

Trip: Cap'n, I might just escort her to that air lock after all.

Just thought I’d throw that in.

Also: KatyJane's "T'Pol goes to Disneyland" bit :D[/color:post_uid0]

taya17 05-30-2003 02:33 AM

I did get it. But since Sa'ar already pointed it out.... *shrugs*

I don't get the 'T'pol goes to Disneyland' bit though. But then again I don't get much that has anything to do with Enterprise. :)[/color:post_uid0]

Saxamaphone 05-30-2003 03:05 AM

OK, the Disneyland bit is a reference to a Superbowl a while back (I don't remember which one, or the team, or the player) but one of the players on the winning team was asked what he was going to do now that his team won, he responded: "I'm going to Disneyland!"

It's been continually spoofed ever since.[/color:post_uid0]
