I can go for the pizza block. I strongly agree with NAH's opinion that we really should use a "Pseudo-GAK!" block of some kind for the second, though. If you don't like the two already presented, I'd like to hear some others of that sort. -- Pteryx

The Pseudo- Gak can easily be inserted into "Game Over":

Quote:

Smith: Game Over, Mister Anderson.
Neo: Pseudo-GAK!
Matrix: 9 CREDITS. CONTINUE? (Y/N)
or:
Quote:

Smith: Game Over, Mister Anderson.
Neo: Yeah, um, how'd that go...? Pseudo-GAK!
Matrix: 9 CREDITS. CONTINUE? (Y/N)
Not sure if it adds or not.

Wowbagger 06-03-2005 01:48 AM

I vote for my version of the phone call:

Quote:

Neo: Exit! EXIT!
Tank: Right on it. Now, if I can just use my handy tricoder to find one...
Trinity: Tank, that's a spoon!
Neo: Trinity, Hammer of Smiting, now.
Trinity: No, wait. That really is a tricoder!
Tank: Haha! Fooled you! There is no spoon!
But I think it's pretty obvious I'm outvoted there.

I do like standback's Game Over idea better than mine, though:

Quote:

Smith: Game Over, Mister Anderson.
Neo: Pseudo-GAK!
Matrix: 9 CREDITS. CONTINUE? (Y/N)

KillerGodMan 06-03-2005 09:56 PM

^Agreed

Pteryx 06-04-2005 08:22 PM

This is one place where I'll gladly go with the majority:

Quote:

Neo: Run run run run GRAB run run dial...
Tank: Domino's Pizza?
Neo: I'll have a Pepperoni with an extra helping of GET ME OUT OF HERE!
Tank: Right on! Delivery in three minutes, or we pay for your funeral.
Neo: I gotta stop ordering from these folks.
And this works too, Standback -- good call:

Quote:

Smith: Game Over, Mister Anderson.
Neo: Pseudo-GAK!
Matrix: 9 CREDITS. CONTINUE? (Y/N)

NAHTMMM 06-05-2005 12:33 AM

^Works for me. :)

PointyHairedJedi 06-07-2005 09:22 PM

I'd buy that for a dollar! Um, I mean I vote for that combo as well.

NeoMatrix 11-07-2005 06:49 AM

I would like that combo too

KillerGodMan 01-14-2006 05:11 AM

Smith: Game Over, Mister Anderson.
Neo: Pseudo-GAK!
Matrix: 9 CREDITS. CONTINUE? (Y/N)

-one thing...
as opposed to Tank, Neo actually dies but comes back to life, so "Pseudo-GAK!" doesn't really work.

So how about "GAK?"? that might work better...

Smith: Game Over, Mister Anderson.
Neo: GAK?
Matrix: 9 CREDITS. CONTINUE? (Y/N)

PointyHairedJedi 01-14-2006 05:24 AM

I dunno. I don't think it really makes that much of a difference either way. Sure, just plain "GAK!"may be more a more technically accurate reflection of the film, but the whole "pseudo" business makes a good running gag, plus is a nice sort of commentary on the writing if you care to analyse it that deeply; sure, we all know he dies, but even when watching it for the first time, did anyone actually for a moment doubt that Neo would somehow survive anyway? A subtle critique of inevitable cliché, if you will. :D

KillerGodMan 01-15-2006 05:34 AM

point...

but still... "Psuedo GAK!" seems wrong for some reason...

Gatac 01-15-2006 06:11 AM

Near-GAK?
Not-quite-GAK?
Almost-GAK?

Gatac

KillerGodMan 01-15-2006 06:17 AM

Almost-but-quite-entirely-unlike-GAK?

I just like 'GAK?'

I see it as...

Smith: Blammers!
Neo: GAK?

Morph

KillerGodMan 01-15-2006 06:19 AM

Almost-but-not-entirely-quite-unlike-GAK?

I just like 'GAK?'

the way I see it...

Smith: Bang!
Neo: GAK?

Morpheus: GAK?
Trinity: That means I get to bring him back to life if I kiss him

-something based on that...

whoiam 01-15-2006 06:52 AM

GAC!, maybe?
Quote:

Smith: Bang!
Neo: GAC!

Morpheus: GAC?
Trinity: That means I get to...etc.
or, if you wanted to use the 'game over' one...

Quote:

Smith: Game Over, Mister Anderson.
Matrix: 9 CREDITS. CONTINUE? (Y/GAK!)
Just seems more... elegant, I guess.

PointyHairedJedi 01-15-2006 01:15 PM

"Almost-GAK" might work, 'cause then we've got a whole The Princess Bride thing going on.

KillerGodMan 01-16-2006 04:17 AM

Yeah? Well I know something you don't!

(also I agree)

Pteryx 01-29-2006 11:10 PM

Hmm... I still think "Pseudo-GAK!" is best for running gag purposes, but something else could be used -- if we make it clear that he's misremembering:

Neo: Uh, crap, how did that go?... Um... Almost-GAK!

Though I also like whoiam's take on the "9 Credits" block. -- Pteryx

KillerGodMan 01-31-2006 02:59 AM

Agreed!

Also, you must have tea and cake with a *KillerGM has been shot before he could start making Eddie Izzard referances*
