February 18

Not dead, just very busy. This is a really big term for me (I'm near the end of my Master's program), so I'm even less able to promise updates than usual. But really, it's not lack of time so much as lack of sitting down and doing it. The inspiration's still there -- I think my last few updates were pretty solid. I just need to get into the right state of mind.

Won't happen for a few days, though. I'm heading back to Ottawa for a brief spring-break visit. Should be nice, although the timing's not great, since I want to do something for the OC finale on Thursday. And above all, I'm acutely aware that the TOS finale is a year late now.

Zeke's Better Judgment: More like obtusely aware.

Shut up, you. Anyway, when I get back I'll try to at least publish some of the many guest fivers that have been awaiting my attention (starting with Gatac's, which should be fun for everybody). And I did take care of some long-overdue spring cleaning, filewise.

Zeke's Better Judgment: More like failwise.

Huh? That wasn't funny at all. You're slipping.

Zeke's Better Judgment: I'll be the judgment of that.

I'll put the tombstone engraver on hold then ;)

Gatac 02-18-2007 03:36 PM

Yay! I'm first!

Gatac

I'd call "I'm second!" but of course life doesn't work that way. :)

At least that when regular ("real") updates resume, we know that we'll enjoy them.

Wowbagger 02-20-2007 06:36 AM

What would we put on Zeke's tombstone, anyway?

I mean, besides cheese and pepperoni. Yes, I knew you were going to say that. Yes, I mean you.

Nate the Great 02-20-2007 04:09 PM

I wish they still ran those commercials.

Well, I'd say something simple, like:

Zeke
Master Fivist
XX-XX-19XX to XX-XX-20XX
Got Five?

:)

Or maybe "I think, therefore I five"?

Sa'ar Chasm 02-20-2007 06:48 PM

Cogito ergo quintum.

Nate the Great 02-21-2007 02:21 AM

Oh, that's good. But is it a literal translation? I guess no such thing exists, because you'd have to conjugate the verb "five" in Latin, and it doesn't exist in any other language as such.

mudshark 02-21-2007 03:27 AM

*silences Nate*

*emphatically*

AKAArzosah 02-21-2007 10:00 AM

Either way, keep the '19XX-20XX'. Indubitably.

Have I mentioned I'm insane today? WOOP-woopwoop!
Uhn, where did that come from?

Zeke
Cogito ergo quintum
19XX - 20XX
We wish he hadn't been taken from us so SOON.

Nate the Great 02-21-2007 12:44 PM

Mmmmpphhh mmmphhh MMppph mmmppHHH-RIP!

Yuck, that was one foul gag. Ha ha!

ijdgaf 02-21-2007 05:43 PM

As a sad digression, I bring you two brief excerpts from two consecutive February 22nds.

2006:

IJD: Hi honey!
5MST: ...
IJD: Honey?
5MST: Aren't you forgetting something?
IJD: Oh, the Al Askari Mosque bombing? Yeah, that sucked.
5MST: ...
IJD: Ooh, moment of silence -- good idea! Ahem, "...." ....
5MST: Look at the date.
IJD: 2-22? I guess alliteration with numbers is cool? 2-22-02 was a bit more fun though, no?
5MST: Indeed.
IJD: Yeah, those were the days. Chinook helicopter crashes and Angolan political asssassinations and oh crap today is our anniversary isn't it.
5MST: ...
IJD: I mean, uh, happy anniversary! I got you this... uh... er...
5MST: ...
IJD: (sigh) I'm really sorry dear. I'll make it up to you next year.

2007:

IJD: Hi honey!
5MST: ...
IJD: Uh... Frak!
5MST: ...
IJD: Unless... Hey, you're not observing a moment of silence for Anna Nicole Smith and/or human dignity by any chance are you?
5MST: ...
IJD: Frak!

...

And in case anyone was wondering, yes. 5MST haunts me with waking hallucinations via a chip in my head and/or an angel from the Cylon god. Pity me.

PointyHairedJedi 03-04-2007 01:54 PM

I think we all do anyway, IJD. I mean... cedar?
