Any organized religion will by it's very nature be resistant to change. Nowadays that means social rather than scientific (for the most part) issues. They'll catch up eventually, as they usually do...

I wouldn't have said so, necessarily. Being a fan of SF might imply that you are more open to new ideas, but then again it might not. I don't really think that there's a solid correlation there...
