I can agree with this.

Hopefully Prodigy is a good jumping off point for younger audiences. I hope it will be good to go when my son is old enough to start understanding that stuff.

It was based on the Star Trek Voyager Elite Force maps, and that one was based on the Quake engine. It could handle the curves, but not on smaller objects. Also explains why certain maps were larger.
