ost_uid0]Eventually MathML will come standard in all browsers and then you can make complex mathematical notations in a browser easily.
For example, sqrt(12345) would be expressed:

But currently most browsers (and webpages) aren't designed for it, so for now we have to resort to CSS tricks. (By the way, I think overline looked the best of all the examples so far.)[/color
