If they didn`t appear, it`s quite interesting to imagine what their culture must have been like in the 22nd Century... since the Cardassians invaded them around the beginning of the 24th. Those were very likely much different Bajorans, strong, powerful... even more sophisticated than humans. Picard did say the Bajorans had an advanced civilization half a million years ago...[/color
