Also, I confess I find fandom increasingly irritating. Shipping, flame wars, and fanfic are kinda dumb if you're older than 16, but the most irritating thing is this sense of entitlement fans have. They bitch out producers for not doing things the way they want, launch bitter and ineffective campaigns, and justify being jerks because "without me this show/series/etc wouldn't exist."

Flame wars are absolutly stupid, but I don't shipping and fanfic are that dumb if they are done well. Yes, there is a lot stupid fanfic and 'ship out there, but there is also some good stuff...you just have to search through a lot of cr@p.
