[color=#000000ost_uid0][iost_uid0]Myself, I live in a village of only a few thousend people.[/iost_uid0]

I thought it wasn't a village.

Anyway, my neighbourhood in Kelowna by itself has more that 1000 people in it. Total for the region (Central Okanagan) is over 100,000. Nothing else in BC outside of Vancouver or Victoria gets anwhere near that size.[/colorost_uid0]

Few thousand people? I lived in a town with less than one thousand. Oh yeah. Very quiet, very nice... very BORING!

Turns out I was wrong. There was one 25 km away, but ours originated only 10 km away.

Smallville?[/quoteost_uid0]

No, Pleasant Park, I think. The sign said 39 residents.

I got the distinct feeling it was more of a commercial area, given the several fast food chain franchises that greeted us as we exited the exit ramp.

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I can see you've never driven through, say, northern Missouri or Kansas...

I wouldn't say "remote" necessarily applies, but the farmhouses are plentiful yet far between.[/colorost_uid0]

There are, but there are no towns the size of Switzerland with a population of 50.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]In terms of smallness most of the Western Isles is comprised of very small villages. In Achmor where I lived for a while (and where my dad still does) the population can't have been more than 60 or 70 people. Of course most of the villages run into each other (they tend to be strung along the roads), it's kind of difficult to quantify the population sometimes. There can't be more than 20000 people in the whole of the Western Isles - about half of that is actually concentrated in Stornoway.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0][quoteost_uid0]Andorra is co-ruled by France... Monaco is destined to become French when the Prince dies...[/quoteost_uid0]

Does anyone notice a pattern here?

Is a certain big European country slowly but steadily taking over all of the world`s tiny countries?

Is Singapore next? 8|[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]We remain neutral. There's a difference. Well we did until those bloody Germans charged in with ludicrous forces. And now the Americans won't let us.

But hey, we stood for five days!

And how [iost_uid0]dare[/iost_uid0] you forget the "er"? [/colorost_uid0]

Considering you can drive across the country in 45 minutes, that's a significant achievement, especially against a blitzkrieg.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I need to clear something up here.

[bost_uid0]You [iost_uid0]can't[/iost_uid0] drive across the country in 45 minutes.[/bost_uid0]

Unless you want to drive 200 km/h. And that's in a straight line. And east-west. North-south is further.[/colorost_uid0]
