Default November 10 (5MSV: Five-Minute "Arrow"+"Reunion")

I've got four of Derek's Smallville fivers to post, so I'm going to split it two-and-two. First, here are his fivers for "Arrow" and "Reunion," two of the better episodes the show's done lately.

Lois: So let's take some pictures of the inscription in this ring, then we can figure out who that bandit is.
Chloe: "Ash nazg durbatulűk..."? That doesn't make any sense.
Funny.

Lex: Lana's going to be okay. Like always.
Clark: That's good. It's good she's got her old room back too.
Lex: Yeah, #3. It's her favorite.
*snicker*

Lex: I hate my father and everything he stands for!
Duncan: That's not a very heroic attitude. We should do noble and honorable things for the less fortunate.
Lex: My dad will hate it... Let's do it!
Duncan: I'm glad to see your altruism guide your decision.

Clark: So Lex is getting attacked too, and it all seems to revolve around some kid named Duncan. What's going on, Oliver?
Oliver: Okay, okay. Let's bend over this Pensieve together.
Clark: That's your sink.
Oliver: Just do it.
ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

Quote:
Clark: So Lionel. Tell me about Duncan. Someone's been avenging themselves on Duncan's behalf. Is it a family member? Is it a friend? Or is it Duncan himself?
Lionel: Duncan's dead.
Clark: That's never stopped anyone before.
Lionel: Okay, okay, maybe we've been giving him kryptonite injections. But only because everything on the show uses kryptonite.
A kryptonite zombie? Haven't they done that already?

Quote:
Oliver: Saved Lex. Still conscious. Talk about some outrageous good luck.
Arrow: THWACK!
Oliver: GAH! Now I've suffered the arrows of my outrageous fortune!
BOOOOOOOOOOO! You were in rare form for this one.

Kryptonite zombies are lame. I think that that's the key reason why I can't get hooked onto Smallville. I think it's fine, but obsession and addiction are out of the question, since one of the key factors is Clart Kent. He's just too strong. Let's run down the major weaknesses, shall we?

1. Kryptonite. So glad that they retconned out all of the plethora of variants other than red and green, but seriously, it's getting too cliche.
2. Magic. Perfectly reasonable, I'm a big Mxy fan, but seeing Captain Marvel Shazam-lightning Supes over and over gets dull fast.
3. He does have to breathe. Too bad they also say that he can compress air in his lungs to allow for limited space travel and ice breath.
4. Take away the yellow sunlight, he becomes Joe Schmoe.

Not too many options, are there? The budget won't really allow for too much space travel and sunlight differences aren't very dramatic, so we're basically stuck with the big K. I'm still a Supes fan, but the skeptic in me just won't let me get as hooked on him as I would Spidey or Batman.
