The Voyager theme song didn't need lyrics, but That Guy With The Glasses added them anyway, HA!

http://www.tsl-game.com/

For several years now I've been following the fan-made King's Quest game The Silver Lining. Vivendi (Sierra) had already given them a fan license, but then Activision bought them out. The creators (Phoenix Online Studios) have finished the first episode, but now they've been told to Cease and Desist. NOW, when there's a complete game in existence. And this isn't a cheapy flash game or ROM hack, this is a real game. A game with full 3D models and voice acting that's been in development for the better part of a decade.

The gang at Phoenix have worked on this with their own money, never once expecting to make a SINGLE penny off of it, and now it's all down the drain. What is the freaking point?

Furthermore, why can't Activision honor the license that Vivendi already gave these guys?

Apparently some people have had a problem reconciling the Trek film odd/even rule with the "bad" Trek 10 and the "good" Trek 11. Their solution is to treat Galaxy Quest as the "true, good" Trek 10 with Nemesis as the "bad" Trek 11 and Trek 2009 as the "good" Trek 12.

Of course this is fanwank at its best, but I still want to hear opinions.

I don't consider that rule to have a very strong correlation with reality. It was already discounted by the last few Next Gen movies, wasn't it?

A video made in the UK to promote Star Trek. There are a few inaccuracies, and their standard of "major events" seems a bit off, but what can you do?

I'm a fan of Smallville, so seeing the theme song set to Star Trek footage tickles me, even if it's from Trek 11.

http://memory-alpha.org/index.php/Un...e_Probe_Agency

I've long been interested in the United Earth Space Probe Agency, or UESPA, the organization only mentioned a few times in TOS before the concept of Starfleet was finalized. This page has an interesting hypothesis, that the presence of army-based ranks like Colonel in a naval-based Starfleet may be attributed to a combined service of UESPA and Starfleet officers.

This one gave me a good laugh. A lot of Voyager tapes for sale on eBay "Starring Robert Picardo!" Not Kate Mulgrew, not a rundown of all the main characters, our friendly EMH has taken center stage!

So our Angelfire front page is down, but somehow the index pages survived. Some fivers still exist, some don't. A piece of our history, ladies and gentlemen.

A quiz to determine your accent. It was accurate for me, so give it a try if you're bored.

Just in case anybody needed to be cheered up, here's McCoy on the Enterprise-D to remind us what the name "Enterprise" means.

Apparently, I have no accent. Of course, I could have told you that anyway. People from around here talk normally; it's everyone else in the world who has an accent.

Also impressive. I'm trying to remember if I was around when 5MV was on Angelfire. The earliest I can remember was 3Sygma. I've been around this site for a while now.

I was also around in the 3Sigma days, I think Angelfire precedes even me.

Neutral. So, Canadian (although I'm not sure how a quiz designed for the States would deal with traces of Aussie).

Most of those questions just confused me.
"Do you say RIGHT and PRICE with the same vowel sound as RIDE and PRIZE?"

There's a way to pronounce those words with different vowel sounds? Man, you people talk funny.

Who's ready for a Canadian joke?

http://www.rinkworks.com/stupid/cs_keyboards.shtml

"Back in the good old pre-PC days we sold a system that required the user to hit Ctrl-A in order to sign on. We sold one to some outfit in Canada. Well, trying to get them going over the phone took an hour. We'd say, 'Hit Ctrl-A,' and they'd say, 'Ok, we hit Ctrl, eh? And nothing happened, eh?'"

An iPad with a gold casing, for people with far too much money.

£129,995.00, which is about $190,000 US or $195,000 Canadian.

Well, that's one way to make sure you never sit on it or leave it behind in a coffeehouse, huh?
