Default Stolen from Startrekfans.net - Famours Trekkies!

I only found the tread there because I actually looked up 'famous trekkies'.

How many can you think of?

The ones I knew before I looked it up:

Matt Stone and Trey Parker
Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish
Jack Black
Simon Pegg
Jeramy Paxman
Stephan Hawking
Kelsey Grammer
definately someone who writes Lizzy McGuir

I supsect Joss Whedon but I don't know. Buffy has had Trek refs since the very beggining and in my book gets majer points for the first enterprise ref I ever saw on TV.

There are a hell of a lot, doesn't it just make your heart glow!

Ben Stiller and the guy who plays George Costanza on Seinfeld. What is his name? I can not think of it. Those two I know for sure are because I've seen interviews with them.

D'you know, I can't think of any. Unless I count - after all, I'm infamous, and a Trekker.

Mira Sorvino admitted to owning a phaser and a pair of pointy ears.

Ben Vereen (he didn't want to give back the uniform he wore as LaForge's father)

Mae Jemison (first female black astronaut)

Mick Fleetwood (he begged for a latex monster part on TNG)

Whoopi Goldberg (famously inspired by Uhura)

And speaking of Uhura, if Martin Luther King wasn't a Trekkie, how else would he have known Nichelle Nichols was on to ask her to stay?

Tom Hanks (he said that he is a huge fan of Sci-Fi and trek in particular. he also said that when ever he talks to patrick stewart he can't talk about anything besides TNG, and apprently he wanted to play cochran on ST:FC)

king Abdulla of Jordan (he actually had a brief cameo in VOY)

Jason Alexander (I personally belive he is the first Trekkie, as he loved trek before it was even aired - he auditiond for the part of Kirk. and of course, he also apeard on VOY)

Paul Allen (co - founder of microsoft, according to forbes magazine eh is the third richest man on earth. among other things, he have founded the science fiction museum in seatle)

Matt Groening (There are lots and lots of Trek refences in The Simpsons, and even more in Futurama, the biggest reference is of course the episode "where no fan has gone before")

Vin Diesel

John logan (writer, wrote the script for gladiator and nemesis)

Manny Coto (he writes for some show on UPN )

Re: Matt Groening

I'm not quite sure if he's a Trekkie or not. The man is not terribly well cultured from what I've heard. He's just surrounded by an amazing crew of writers who are well versed in pop culture.

I know the man hasn't seen "The Wizard of Oz". I might recall him saying the same about Trek, but I'm not sure.

Maybe I'll investigate that further....
