Indeed. And Pointy, Catbert/HAL has already been discredited for being a psychotic computer, and the other appears to be an intelligent cat. With glasses. Which will insist on a huge staff to pet it etc, meaning less money for the show.

Besides, HAL is sane enough for Enterprise.
