No?

Level 2 characters are indeed fragile. And level 2 wizards even more so.

That's why I'm level 10. [/colorost_uid0]

Good grief...a snoop gets 8 Vitality points at *first level*...and that's just the "near-miss, flesh wound and grazing shots" allotment, in addition to 10 Wound points. (Assuming 10 Con, of course.)

(By contrast, a 16 Con Soldier gets 15 Vitality and 16 Wounds...at first level, of course.)

Did I mention you're in the wrong system?

LOL I can honestly say I know more about how to calculate a stardate then what you all are talking about. The past few posts I read are gibberish. Pure gibberish, are you guys talking about something or are you just putting random words together?

They are talking about D&D 3rd Edition. I'm talking about Spycraft, which is based on D20, which in itself is pretty much D&D 3rd Edition with a few tweaks.

A solid tabletop roleplaying background is often useful, sab. You might want to try it. (Unless you're surrounded by fat, greasy people who only do dungeon crawls and take three weeks to plan their ultimate munchkin character. Then, I suggest the ever-popular Play By Messageboard.)

2nd Edition, actually.

Yes, Nan, you have 8 hitpoints. I gave you full hitpoints for level 2 to keep you from dying in the first round. Now you might last until the second [/colorost_uid0]

You're both wrong, it's 3.5.

Yes, so we're all talking about different games. Got any problems with that? [/colorost_uid0]

But 3.5 is evil! And 2nd Edition? Wasn't that the one with THAC0 ? Evil doesn't begin to describe it.

(And D20 Modern, too. No specific reason, I just like pointing my finger and laughing at them.)

Besides, I knew D20 had reached it's apex when I saw Spycraft's Fan Service feat. (Feints against every enemy of the opposite sex within 30 feet...hell yeah.)

Also, on the "different game" thing, has anyone here tried Savage Worlds? We ran a pulp 30s adventure with lots of mummies and shotguns with it, and it worked surprisingly well, so we migrated it to a Star Wars game, and there's talks of porting our Spycraft setting over to it, too, mainly because our GM is going crazy doing the D20-esque bookkeeping. (I'm against it myself, though, seeing how every time I get a new Spycraft source book I feel like a kid in a candy store...there's so many feats, classes and gear that you just couldn't do justice to in SW. But I disgress...)

The above may make no sense to you. In that case, forget I said it.

I'm so confused by all this. Why can't you be like me and play FFXI? We could start a linkshell! Then you could confuse me more! YAY!

I'm an avid RPer, but I've never done a table top RP, none of my friends are into it. It's a shame, but I don't think I'll ever be able to convince them to try (I've tried so hard  )

Well, that's all from me!

*concurs wholeheartedly*

Final Fantasy? Pft. You might as well play Diablo. (Note: I liked Diablo, very much, but I didn't think there was much of an RPG element to it.) Besides, regarding FF: what fun is it to advance pre-made characters? That's what never made sense to me: Wouldn't you rather play Neverwinter Nights or, say, Fallout? Both manage to have more freedom while still keeping a tight storyline. Or, if you're in love with pre-made characters, why not try Planescape:Torment? Atleast you can adjust the main character to be what you want to be.
