Been watching the odd episode - I'd forgotten how good it is. Might have to spring for the DVD when I can spare the cash.

You mean how bad it was? I loved that TV series (it introduced me to the Guide), but... it's objectively awful.

I'll have to find a BBC feed out here in the hinterlands.

The iTunes music store sells it. So does amazon.co.uk, which is where I got my copy. Cost me about $50 USD, though, plus S&H. Well worth it, nonetheless. The entire secondary series never happens in the book.

"I seem to be in the bottom of a very deep, dark hole. What does that remind me of? ... Ah, yes... life. (deep sigh) Maybe if I lie here a while it'll go away again. Why don't I climb out? Why don't I try to help? Why don't I just lie here and say Zooterwurdle?"

"Zooterwurdle, zooterwurdle, zooterwurdle..."

There are actually two radio versions now of course - the original, and the more recent version that was on BBC Radio 4 not so long ago. Not heard either, actually, but I might do at some point - problem is, there are umpteen other audio CD's I'd like to get as well (primarily among them the Big Finish Doctor Who audios of whice there are over a hundred).

I know this is a bit off topic but I absolutely love the fact that there are so many incarnations of Hitchhikers. It's the one thing where people (like me) can't complain about keeping it 'pure and preserved in the original form'.

I was wondering whether it would be worth investing in the old radio series on cd. Well, more like asking for it for christmas or something. I already have the books read by DNA on tape and the DVD of the TV series (which I absolutely love) so is it worth it?

Yes. It's completely different once again, and, and this is the primary/secondary phases I'm talking about, changes quite dramatically towards the end......so yes. Get it.
