What can I say about the Cartoonist that he hasn't already said against himself? The Cartoonist is a being of paradoxes. He's the weirdest one in the strip by definition -- all other characters' weirdness is a subset of his -- and yet he's also the one controlling it and keeping the strip on some semblance of a course. He attacks his drawing skills through all the characters, yet continues to draw. And while the T&R universe wouldn't have existed without him, in that universe's perspective it did exist before him and even wants him gone. And I can understand that. I enjoy watching the Cartoonist run Triangle and Robert's lives, but I wouldn't want him running mine. |
