Anyone else seen this yet? Thoughts, expectations, etc.?

I hate hype. It's very hard for a movie to live up to its hype and when it doesn't you just leave feeling underwhelmed and disappointed, whereas if you didn't have the hype and the expectations, you would've set your bar lower and enjoyed the movie a lot more.

Now, none of that actually applies to Batman because it did live up to its hype, in my mind. But I notice that effect is still present. I set the bar really high, it met it, and so I said "Yeah, that's a good movie." But if I'd walked into that theater without any expectations, I would've been blown away and wouldn't be able to form a coherent thought.

So yeah. Go and see it if you haven't yet. It's okay. :)

I never ever thought I'd see a Batman/Monty Python joke. Ever. Wow...

Around here? Psh. That title was begging for it.

Haven't seen it yet (except for a clip of the party scene, leaked a few days before release) and probably won't right away, but reactions I've seen from a lot of people have been overwhelmingly positive. Ledger's Joker, in particular, has seemed to impress greatly.

This ain't your daddy's Batman. It's more like your grandaddy's Batman. Very, very, very dark. I commented to my cousin the actor that I wanted to be able to act like Heath Ledger, and he said "Yeah, we all wish that." The Joker made the movie.

My girlfriend didn't like the way whatsispickle talked in a deep rasp when he was in the suit, much like every other actor has done except Adam West.
