As you've all noticed, the poll feature of the 5MV forums is currently enabled again. Â The reason I turned it back on was to post 5MV Nomenclature Poll III, but I've been thinking about it and I've decided I may as well leave it enabled. Â I like to get your opinions about things, so it's more convenient not to have the poll feature off by default. Â Besides, making it available for a few days and then turning it off again is a bit like taunting you guys, isn't it?

However, if we keep the polls, it's with the understanding that they're to be used responsibly, as it were. Â I don't want a hundred junk polls popping up -- we've all seen forums that get bogged down that way. Â (Frankly, Miscellaneous has enough... iffy threads as it is.) Â So we need a control measure. Â Personally, I'd rather not see more than one poll active at a time in the same forum. Â If you have a brilliant poll idea that you absolutely [i:post_uid0]have[/i:post_uid0] to post, very well, but in most cases let's wait till the current poll is done before posting a new one. How's that sound?[/color:post_uid0]

Sounds reasonable to me. I can't imagine a situation in which I would want to place a poll, but when there is, I'll keep this rule in mind.

By the way, which threads are iffy? Are you refering to 'One-by-one story', 'Answer --> Question game', 'This or That' and the like?[/color:post_uid0]

Yeah. I'm not saying those threads are without entertainment value, but I for one don't have time to keep up with them, and I've more or less stopped trying. (Except the Top Ten Lists thread, which rocks.)[/color:post_uid0]

Yeah I must say once I realize a thread is one of "those" mentioned above I stop looking at it. I am however glad that the king as finaly bestowed Poll power back upon us again. :) I enjoy them, as long as you don't get outa hand like Zeke said. Kudos. Thanks zeke. :)[/color:post_uid0]

WA threads are pretty much my only vice in that regard. Anyway, I think considering the current size of the board leaving the polls enabled should be no problem.[/color:post_uid0]

Hey, there are some of us who really like the "iffy" threads :)[/color:post_uid0]
