Well, I've been starting these threads since Season 2 came out, so here's another one.
Deep Space Nine Season 5 came out today!
I'm looking forward to seeing the episodes on this set again. Particularly "Trials and Tribble-lations" and "Rapture" ("Rapture" is quite probably my favorite DS9 episode). Of course "Dr. Bashir, I presume", the two parter "In Purgatory's Shadow / By Inferno's Light", "Children of Time", "A Call to Arms", etc. are all quite good too, and it's been a while since I last saw season 5 (not since it's first run), so I'm looking forward to seeing it all over again.
Anyone have comments on Season 5 of DS9? Anyone planning on getting it?[/color:post_uid0]

Comments? Let's see - season five. That was the one after seaon four wasn't it?
Actually the only thing I DO remember about seaon five was that 'Trials and Tribble-ations' was an episode in it, and that there was a bunch of stuff about Klingons.[/color:post_uid0]

Season 5 was the point at which I turned 180 degrees on DS9. I only watched a few episodes from the earlier seasons, and [i:post_uid0]really[/i:post_uid0] disliked them (at the moment, I can't remember why... also, I was under 15, so no accounting for tastes). Then one summer (seeing DS9 as a kids show, sadly) a public TV channel showed an episode every day... covering most of season 5. I loved every minute of it, and it's here that I saw how deftly DS9 handles the vast, complex story arcs that are its hallmark. I [i:post_uid0]love[/i:post_uid0] ongoing arcs, and seasons 5-7 of DS9 currently stand in my mind as the best stint of Trek ever.[/color:post_uid0]

Story arcs rock! :D [i:post_uid0]Deep Space Nine[/i:post_uid0] is the only Trek which I really want to watch but have never gotten a chance to, seeing how it never came to the sunny shores of this island. I would get the DVD box sets, except that they are insanely expensive. I saw Season 1 going for three hundred dollars in HMV... but then again, HMV overprices everything. But that's besides the point: the regular pricing of a hundred and sixty dollars per box is way out of my budget considering how there are SEVEN seasons of DS9. Besides, I'm already broke enough trying to save up to get the B5 DVDs...
Argh. I wish I were a millionaire! Argh![/color:post_uid0]
