Don't know about it? This should get you up to speed. (http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/plane_fire/) Also, get out of that rock, it was on the CBC, CNN, BBC, and many other news stations as well
I concider this worthey of mentioning, because of 2 reasons
1. It was a really, really bad crash
and
2. Nobody was seriously injured
This I concider very amazing, and should be mentioned. Everywhere possible.

Damn lucky, really. Though the fact that Airbus makes a really good plane prolly has sommat to do with it too.
Also, what is it with Air France planes crashing that have never ever chrashed before? Seriously, wasn't Concorde enough for one decade?

Thank goodness everyone got out of that safely :) Sometimes things do turn out reasonably well...
I think it's the third plane to fall into the ravine.
They should put airbags in that thing, or something.

I'll chalk that one in the "suprisingly good turnout of a potentially bad event that happened recently" column. :)

Second actually, they plan on makeing sure it doesn't happen a third time though.

They were saying this morning that the main problem was the fact that the plane touched down about 4000 feet down a 9000-foot runway -- just not enough room to stop safely (although landing in a severe thunderstorm couldn't have helped much.)
