Hey guys. I'm writing a new Star Trek series called Star Trek: Legacy, which chronicles the voyages of a new crew through the turmoil of political, ideological, and personal change. It also is the culmination of 30 some odd years of Star Trek history, incorporating everything I could possibly think of into a cohesive, consistent universe with real continuity and lasting consequences of events. There will be seriously radical and shocking events happening in my story, but they all work towards a greater goal of honoring the history of Trek and reconciling its faults, and also telling a damn good story. Zeke is going to work with me on it, would anyone else like to help as well?

Where do I apply?

For an introduction to the lead character of Legacy, the start of Vedra's first story can be found here (http://www.fiveminute.net/legacy/s1e1.html).

I've been listening to Vedra's ideas for the last few hours now, and trust me, folks, they're awesome. This is going to be one action-packed Star Trek saga. Vedra is in charge, but I'll be helping with the whole operation -- after two years on VVS, I know a thing or two about running this kind of project.

This is gonna be fun for all concerned. Further news as things develop.

(If anyone's worried, this will in no way affect 5M.net. That's still my online priority and there are like 50 million things in progress. I've just hit a rough patch, as the Dec 12 newspost explains.)

Oh, and for anyone that wants to write a story, I will be making a writers' guide for characters and such, and I'll want a short story sample before I accept anything.

I'll certainly read stuff. I can't really write to save my life though.

Agreed. I like what I see, though!

That's okay, PHJ. I appreciate the support.

I'd be willing to edit a little, but I can't write worth a darn.

Oh em gee. This is a little freaky because for about a year, three of my friends were writing their own series called... Star Trek: Legacy.

LOL.

Yeah and as for writing, I can barely push myself to write my own stuff, sooo... you probably don't want me to sign up. :P

Well, Ginga, I didn't steal the idea of the title, and I'm sure the storylines are different.

I wasn't saying you were. ._. I was just saying it was neat coincidence...

Oh, I know. I didn't mean it in a bad way. Sorry if I came off like that.

Wow, I have my own story  Awesome

I'd love to help out but I'm not sure I'd a) have time to write, or b) write anything worth reading

I love the opening

Short stories are fun to write. 12 page papers due tuesday for my final exam are not, though.

Haha, okay. All is fine again in the 5M(v) universe.

Friday Update!: Zeke is working on the timeline...but that's all we've got.

Yeah, progress on this thing won't really pick up until after Christmas. December is always a busy month. But that's okay -- you can't rush art.

Or can you? No, wait, you can't.

I don't want to rush anymore, because the maddened ramblings of my mind were rushed to get out of my head, and this series was born. That was good, but rushing the writing will be bad. I also appreciate the (couple of) positive comments I've gotten on the prologue chapter of the story.

I'm interested. Probably I'd be most useful with proof-reading.
