Boring expository explanation yielding what appears to be actual facts but is really a terse command to look it up yourself.

Authorial chuckle followed by a shrug. Boring expository explanation about the term being related to an old child's game that turns words into dollar values (the letter "a" is worth a cent, "b" is two cents, etc. and that the value of the word is merely the sum of the values of the letters). A further lecture about how "ten-dollar word" merely means a LONG word.

Query as to possibility of any word in the english language or otherwise actually adding up to ten dollars based upon the previous poster's stated values.

Suggestion someone not as lazy as myself examine 'antidisestablishmentarianism'.
