I think a little explaining is in order. Think of it as christmas, but Sinterklaas has a different hat than Santa, has black people as helpers instead of elves, rides a white horse, which can't fly but walks on the roofs, he comes from Spain and has a longer beard. Oh, and he isn't so fat. I think that's about it. :eyeroll:

I celebrate, but the way our family does it is from the Dutch tradition trickeling down and mish mashing in German holday tradition - it's really a Christmas prequil for us - except with stockings and no tree.

I had a friend in elementary school who's faja was Dutch - so I learned all about the stuff CM was talking about good times
